EcoSchools Multiplier Event in Cyprus
News
On 5 September 2026, Novatex Solutions Ltd organised an EcoSchools Multiplier Event at The Cyprus Planetarium, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “EcoSchools – Empowering Teachers and Students to Foster Sustainability through Education” (Project No. 2024-2-FR01-KA210-SCH-000274117).
The event brought together students and informal educators to share the project’s results, introduce its digital learning resources, and explore environmental sustainability through interactive STEAM-based activities.
Sharing the EcoSchools Project Results
Participants were introduced to the project’s educational materials, which cover five environmental themes:
- Climate Change
- Pollution
- Biodiversity and Ecosystems
- Sustainable Lifestyles and Consumption
- Shared Responsibility and Action
The resources, available in English, Greek, and French, include educational materials, lesson plans, case studies, and classroom activities designed for students aged 12–15 and 16–18.
The event also introduced the EcoSchools Online Classroom, where educators and students can access the project’s learning resources and explore environmental topics.
Learning Through Practical STEAM Activities
Alongside the presentation of the project’s results, participants took part in hands-on activities combining environmental education with science and technology.
Activities included:
- Exploring soil biodiversity: Discovering organisms living beneath the soil and their importance for healthy ecosystems.
- Measuring soil moisture: Using sensors and micro:bit technology to understand soil conditions and environmental monitoring.
- Protecting biodiversity: Discussing pollution, environmental challenges, and practical actions to protect nature.
These activities demonstrated how practical experiments and digital tools can make environmental education more interactive and engaging for young learners.
Encouraging Wider Use of EcoSchools Resources
The Multiplier Event provided an opportunity to disseminate the project’s results and encourage the use of its educational materials and Online Classroom in formal and non-formal learning environments.
The activity contributed to the project’s wider dissemination efforts across Cyprus, Greece, and France, connecting environmental knowledge with practical learning experiences.
We sincerely thank The Cyprus Planetarium for hosting the event and all students and informal educators for their participation!
