First Teacher Workshop in Cyprus on Climate Change and Education

News

On 30 September 2026, NOVATEX Solutions organized thought the Erasmus+ EcoSchools project its first online teacher workshop in Cyprus, titled “Climate Change and Education.” The session was conducted in Greek via Zoom and primarily targeted secondary school teachers and individuals interested in environmental education.

The workshop aimed to strengthen educators’ knowledge of climate change and introduce practical approaches to making environmental topics more accessible, interactive, and engaging for students.

Understanding Climate Change

During the workshop, participants explored key topics, including the greenhouse effect, human activities contributing to climate change, environmental and societal impacts, renewable energy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and individual and collective actions towards sustainability.

Bringing Environmental Education into the Classroom

Beyond theoretical knowledge, the workshop focused on practical teaching methods that educators can apply in their classrooms.

Participants explored educational videos, digital learning resources, classroom activities, and examples of good practices. The session also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on how to encourage students’ active participation and develop their environmental awareness.

We sincerely thank all educators who participated in the workshop and contributed to the discussion.

We look forward to continuing our educational activities in Cyprus and working with teachers and students towards a more environmentally responsible future.
